The 4 th edition of the Conferences on architecture, technology, design at the service of water and society took place in Mexico City, at the Museo Memoria y Tolerancia on the 14 th December, organized by the We Are Water Foundation.

“Smart Water, Smart Shopping” focused on the water problem in commercial, retail and mixed uses developments: one of the main development, design and building areas in Mexico, both in cities and tourist destinations.

Although the message focused on Mexico, a vision of Latin America/Caribbean as a whole was provided, which gave continuity to the conferences held in Mexico and Barcelona in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Mexican/Caribbean and Spanish decision makers (regulatory bodies, large consumers, operators, commercial developers, engineering companies specializing in water in commercial spaces, architects and designers) with interests or presence in Mexico/Caribbean participated in this edition of Smart Water, Smart Shopping. Professionals, companies and institutions with an interest in water in Latin America were also invited.
