You may have noticed that our newsletter has a new format. This change is part of our response to a new communication challenge, which also includes a redesigned website. Our goal is to align with the evolving information landscape and address the increasing importance and complexity of the water and sanitation sector, which is at the core of our mission.
The Foundation was established 14 years ago, and it has grown significantly during a period of remarkable change in humanity’s relationship with access to water, sanitation, and hygiene. During this time, ensuring these fundamental human rights has become one of the most critical goals for securing the future of the approximately 9 billion people expected to inhabit the Earth by 2050.
In our work, we have continually evolved in our search for new projects and innovative ways to channel aid to the most disadvantaged. At the same time, we have focused on communication initiatives to raise awareness among a larger audience about the importance of the global challenge we face.
Our new website aligns with this objective. As the social perception of water and sanitation challenges has become both universal and complex, our audience of stakeholders has continued to grow and diversify. Therefore, we have designed our new platform to offer a more visual and intuitive experience, ensuring our messages are delivered effectively worldwide.
In-depth Information About Our Projects
We have restructured our platform to showcase our projects in a way that allows our audience to explore and better understand the global reach of our most essential work. Each project is unique, and through 96 aid interventions, we have already benefited more than 3.7 million people across 38 countries.
We have improved access to information with a geolocation map and a detailed list for each project. Additionally, we have redesigned each project’s page to clearly present each intervention’s objectives, context, and methodology.
Our donations page has also been revamped to accommodate the growing number of supporters who share our mission. We have clarified the payment options and made direct donations to specific projects easier.
The Challenge of Complex Information
The world of access to water, sanitation, and hygiene is complex. This complexity has increasingly become evident to the public, often at an accelerated pace. Climate change, social and economic upheavals, armed conflicts, natural disasters, and migratory flows have all contributed to a context where reporting with reliable data and facts is essential for raising awareness and making progress.
In our Insights section, where we have published over 450 articles, we have added a filter to facilitate topic searches using tags, as well as a keyword search. The eleven tags alone highlight the vast array of scientific, economic, and social topics that shape the information landscape in which we address our communication challenges.
We have also redesigned the pages of each article, clarifying the content structure and making it more device-friendly.
Key Initiatives
Our Initiatives section has also been enhanced for greater visual clarity. It highlights key actions that will be prominently featured in the near future, such as the sixth edition of the We Art Water Film Festival, now a benchmark in the world of communication. Other initiatives include our commitment to promoting sustainable tourism through Let’s Make a Deal; our new Walkathon for Water solidarity walks campaign, and the renewed The Power of Water campaign. This campaign showcases the transformative impact that water, sanitation, and hygiene have had on the nearly three million people we have helped.
We hope you will like this new phase of our communication efforts. Hopefully, it will help us all recognize the value of collaboration beyond hierarchies, social and economic classes, borders, and ideologies. We look forward to welcoming you.
